Hey lads, looking to buy new exhaust for a 2.5 Cosworth I'm restoring, need from the manifold back, want something sporty and stainless(not too loud) and also want a good make? Any idea where I can buy one online?

the manifolds of the 16v are considered to be efficient so you should try and find an original one at first.
then you can choose the back box and everything else.
i think that if you go the stainless steel way the exhaust is going to be loud, but i am not 100% sure.

I think it has to be a custom job. Supersprint were doing middle and back sporty sections for the 190 but their prices are quite high.
Ideally I would not change the downpipes as these are quite robust and I would stick to a cat-back system. The only thing I would change on the downpipes is the first silencer after the collector.

You can go for a straight pipe in that section and continue with a free flowing 2.5" system.
If that setup turns out loud for your liking you can always add a round box to do some dampening in the place after the collector.

If you are handy with a welder and a big grinder you can always make your own system as I did with my 190. I got all the pipes and boxes from Magnaflow, and a metallic high flow CAT all for around £260 delivered to my door and I built the system myself. The car now drives better at any speed and it has a nice deep tone that is not giving me a headache on long drives.

I had to replace my 2.5 16 exhaust a couple of years ago, I had a custom stainless system made and fitted by Infinity Exhausts of Bristol. £320 inc vat and it's spot on ;) They asked how loud I wanted it, and they got it perfect. It pulls a lot better, more torque, and is better on fuel now :) Even better since I fitted a K&N panel filter :driver:
