The back box on my 190e (2.6) needs replacing and Id like to fit a tuned back box and I'm after some advice from the forum please. Its probably easier to say what I don't want, and that's a really loud and offensive exhaust! In an ideal world id like a unit that is fairly quiet on tick over and around town, but gives off a nice note when the car is opened up. I also believe that a bigger bore could help the car breath better, which would improve performance. I'm basing my requirement on the sounds of the standard AMG exhaust which appear to be subtle and quiet until pushed, when you get the popping and growl. is there an off the shelf item out here, does anybody have any experience or advice please ? anything appreciated !! Cheers Si. |

I have a standard back box, but the cat and middle silencer have been replaced with a section of stainless steel pipe. The lambda sensor has been refitted into the decat pipe. Runs perfectly well and sounds the nuts when you nail it (Minus a little rattling from the pre-cats which could be cured by removing them) but it's pretty sedate at idle. |
