how easy/difficult/pain in the **insert swear word here** is it to replace the cat/downpipe section of the exhaust? I want to replace mine as its seen better days. I can get cat online for about £100 whereas it'll cost me double that at any exhaust place. Just want to know if I'd regret it!!

It can be an **insert swear word here** to do. Make sure the parts you get are pukka, I cheaped out on a cat and the pipes/welding were all wrong. The nuts can be a bit of a bastard too - don't try doing it without UJs or wobble bars as I did -_- Suffice to say, my car now has no cat. Are you doing it on a ramp or stands?
