Trying to remove the sump on a 2.5-16 auto. Followed all the recommended steps - engine jacked up and spacers under the mounts but still cannot get the sump off. The stiffener ribs wont go past the cross member to let the pick up bowl to slide round the inside wall. Seen one description which mentions releasing the gearbox mounts and moving the engine forward?? The engine filter bowl is pretty close to hard up against the bulkhead so dont see how I can go up much more. Am I missing something???? |

Got the sump off eventually by lifting the engine as far as I could get it. Still difficult to wriggle the sump out!! |
