Was driving along about 15 minutes ago and lost all power in drive. I pulled over and put it in neutral and the engine died. She fires up then immediately dies now. I suspect the fuel filter, anything else I should be looking out for?

EDIT: The reason I suspect the fuel filter is because I've been on almost empty all week. I put a tenner in earlier but the fuel gauge needle didn't even seem to move.

I cracked an injector pipe off earlier and there didn't seem to be any squirt getting up there when I span the engine, so I'm pretty sure it's the filter since I can hear the pump. I have a new one at work so I'll get that, fit it when I get home and update everyone. Having to drive a front wheel drive car to work tomorrow :(

Could it also be the fuel relay?

Could be worth checking the fuel pump relay - it primes for a few seconds when you put the key in and turn to the ignition position, but should switch to continuos operation once the engine is cranked over. If no fuel is getting through it should be something simple - I dont think it will be the filter to be honest.

New FPR fitted and making no difference. When my lovely assistant gets here I'll fit the new filter and check the spark on each cylinder.

Changed the FPR, new plugs and some fresh squirt and after some struggling she fired up and she's all happy now, running perfect. Halfords only had those Super 4s so they're in for now but she doesn't seem to have any problems
