I'm only really here for the Kitchens

Firstly, a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all the guys at http://www.w201-16v.de for arranging this and inviting us. Henger and all the guys that made this possible.

This year I think Maki gets the award for services to queen and country. I will leave Jeremy to go into more details but without your help things would have been a lot more painful Maki. Let us know if you need some more gaffa tape sent over to repair any other major suspension components. All uk gaffa work comes with a 1 year parts only warranty.

Great to see Lude and all the other chaps, thanks for making us feel so welcome and part of the crowd.

I know the words on everybody's mind are 'what about the toilets ?', I am very pleased to announce they were fixed, working, with loo roll and even soap :) Top man Henger the new arrangement is a great idea and should insure the same for future years. Just need a sauna to be added now ;)

GETTING THERE
The trip started as Rich left sheepland (Wales) Thursday night on a megabus, £3 return to London (Because he is tight). I was busy getting my car back from the painters, somewhat last minute. And in the dark which is not ideal lmao
It turned into some kind of street party with my neighbours having a beer and talking about the trip. Very strange indeed.
Posted Image
So, early next morning, with Rich and Jeremy preparing at Jeremy's gaff and pari wondering how many pairs of shoes to take I was turning my house upside down for my passport and trying to refit all the trim and door handles.
Posted Image
Lets just hope that Jeremy's car alarm works, why not have it doing a self test at 6:30am, luckily Rich used to live in Swansea so that was disconnected quicker than Jeremy was able to pull the fob out.
Half hour late, with my passport but not the things that I had intended to be sorting I set off.
Posted Image
Posted Image

TRAFFIC galore made everything really slow but eventually I made it to Jeremy's, then on to collect PARI, and then down to dover for the ferry. We missed the ferry but that is always fine, you just jump on the next one.
Posted Image
The wait gave me a chance to fit 50% of my door handles and my aerial back on. Next year I plan to not be so last minute lmao

Posted Image
Posted Image
2 hours and 1 beer later we land on the beaches of Dunkirk and head straight towards the fatherland. CB's in hand we confuse the dock crew with talk of amputee midget porn and attempt to make a biker think his mate is telling him he has done a poo in his pants.

Apart from the odd tap with a brace to get Jeremy's starter to work (usually at customs posts or just before embarking/disembarking ferry's) the cars are running great. We storm up through France, and into Belgium. The later ferry and a bit of traffic means to make it in the one day we would be arriving in the dark. Unknown foreign driving after hours on the go can be a bit stressful in the dark so we decided to head to a campsite in Namur Germany. It turned out to be one I have been to before, who locked me out !!
Posted Image

Slightly apprehensive about that but it turned out great and I got to see the donkey again. This time he was upside down and we later discovered that one of his mates was a gynecologist donkey. Late into the night me and PARI watched a satellite cross the sky only to be joined by a nice bright shooting star. So romantic lmao lmao :help:  Saturn and mars also made an appearance.

Making use of the showers, and after the long goodbye between PARI and his new very close oriental friends we head across luxemburg, and up into germany. Didnt go for a new land speed record this time but had some nice 130mph stretches on the autobahn. Arriving at about lunch time we set up the tents in what is now starting to be the regular uk contingents area and headed off for the customary "we are here" burger king.

A quick trip to lidl, the bottle shop and the place with 102 racing fuel and it was back to the campsite fully prepared. PARI had put the BBQ up in record time (I think it was about 7 hours ?) so beers, burgers and germans ensued.

Early start and a quick strip down of everything in the cars and we head off to the MAIN EVENT..............................................

Now for some pics and hopefully videos.

Anybody who considers themselves a fan of the 16v, evo 1, evo II or AMG models that hasnt been to this event is really missing out. Going on track or not its a great GTG and a great road trip. Just dont ask PARI to make you a late night omelette !!!

Good things come to those who wait, I should have them off PARI tomorrow night perhaps.

Rich's are probably first. If you enjoy washed out completely out of focus wastes of time I can upload mine lmao

I should be getting the austrians vids soon too.

Weather was fantastic, a little hot perhaps on the drive home, having windows open at those speeds is a bit painful. We had about 20 minutes of very light rain on track day but it never got past a very light spitting. It was interesting to see what even a tiny amount of rain does to sideways grip.

I did my best to help keep the insect population down too :-

Unfortunately some got through my scoops, lucky blighters. Although hopefully they got fried on my discs.

I havent added the ducts behind them yet but I have to say they worked an absolute treat. I brake pretty late and hard for the hairpin and every year I get some sort of brake worry. But not this year !!!

yes indeed, although the placement means they are already making a huge difference. I didnt once have to come in due to hot brakes.

Although the temperature of the air inside my tyres reached close to 100 degrees C. The pressures were pushed up from 33psi before going on, up to 40 as I came off. My TPMS spent most of the day beeping at me lmao

Something to do with the & chr encoding. Just strip the '&feature=youtu.be' off the end before pasting.

Nice to meet you Andy16V, see you next year.

Brilliant vids rich, hand held cameras really do show what its actually like to be in the car, some of the forces involved. Fixed mount looks great, playstation stylee but it doesnt show what its actually like.

To give the same effect as being at the ring when watching the videos.
I Gaffa taped my stereo speakers to my wifes head, turned them up to loud, set a hair dryer to hot and fired it into her face and kicked her chair in the back at the right time according to the video.

One hell of a weekend. Shame we didnt have more from the UK to make up the numbers.

Weather was brilliant and going around the track is really not that scary unless you have a nutter in a bright yellow Opel Kadet turbo zooming about.

This weekend wouldnt have been possible without the enduring drives from Kenny & Jeremy, so a big shout out to those 2.

And german Haute cuisine is pure Schnitzel, Wurst, schnitzel and more wurst

What can i say -it was like always a really amazing weekend with you guys

What did we learn this weekend ? You can fix anything on your car with just one thing - GAFFA TAPE

Jeremy did a quick repair on my car and boy what a tranformation i think my car gained at least another 40HP !!

I'll order for the next year a container with gaffa tape and the amazing 1 year UK warranty !!

Than like always Kenny improving his skills and evolving his car ;-)

Missed some guys from last year but learned again some new guys a special thanks to my man Gordon Ramsey aka Pari.

You know your F**** burger were really delicious

and of course Rich who had a little handicap with his health because of a slight cold but was all over the place to help jeremy with his special guarantee it can take 500hp exhaust lmao

On an other sidenote when we went to the garage to fix jeremys exhaust the guy told jeremy after fixing it - look man it's only a temporary solution so you can make like max another 2 laps on the track and it'll then get you safe back to England . 2 LAPS not more !!!!

I think jeremy must have had at that point already a problem with his ears lmao because after returning to the track he made something like 20 and then the exhaust gave up AGAIN;-) But at least this time it only was the heat shield .

So it was a really nice time wih you guys !!!

Bye

Maki

ok, I told ya it was rubbish but after touching up the levels and anti-shake filters I found I overtook a few cars so its going up regardless lmao

The sun was so bright I couldnt see the camera viewer through the dirty rear window so I set it up off its mount and then attached it. Clearly mr fumbles was in town coz I changed the exposure and focus significantly lmao
Turns out it was in low power mode, dimmed viewscreen.

Commence p1sstaking lmao
