Welcome to M.B. ownership and welcome aboard the "Forum ship" Ha! :D
Not having had h/l/w/w on my car, I can only assume that they work as most, only with the headlamps on, and on about every sixth squirt.....
If I'm wrong, some kind soul will be along soon to set things straight! Welcome & enjoy ;)

Welcome along to the forum!

Great to start with a 2.6. It's a really good all rounder.

May be worth checking the condition of the prop shaft flexi joints (doughnuts). They can wear and split with age. This will give you the clonk when you engage drive or reverse (or both).

Be sure to upload some pics :)

Good choice. Excellent colour. Welcome to the wonderful world of the 2.6. Find the right stretch of road, put your foot down and listen to the wonderful straight six howl from 4,500 revs. It's a real turbine of an engine.

You will need to do a little bit more work than that to sell it!

Do yourself a favour, give the car a proper wash and wax, then take some decent pics and do a full write-up including full spec and mileage etc. Work out what you are willing to accept and price it accordingly.

You say it has rust in the 'normal places' on the arches. I for one have never had rust on any of my 190's so it would help to explain exactly where the rust is and how far gone it is. Unless you explain otherwise most potential buyers are going to assume it needs new wings and knock you down £300 or so.

The car looks tidy enough in the one pic above so should sell ok given the right exposure.

I know this may sound a bit harsh but unless you put in some effort you will get next to nothing for it.
