Hello I'd like to change the spark plugs in my 2.6 auto. The sticker in front of the engine says Bosch H8DC or H8 DCO. It also says in the official MB technical sheet for M103 engine ( http://w124-zone.com/downloads/MB%20CD/W124/w124CD1/Program/Engine/103/15-1031.pdf ) that the DCO ones have a central electrode of larger diameter ( and they are non-resistor ones). Which ones could be better? why the difference between small/large electrode diameter? Is it to allow a better flow of current (the larger diameter ones) ? cheers |

These engines only run well on the standard recommended plugs. Given a choice between Bosch and Beru I would use Beru, mainly because they usually last longer. I would not touch modern Champion plugs with a bargepole!! Do not use multi spark plugs at all, the drop in performance is quite noticable and do not be fobbed of with resistor plugs as these can possibly cause many pounds worth of damage (new ignition unit around £2000.00). |

ok although BERU's would be better, the Bosch ones are easier to find. But if they would be the DC or DCO ones, I'm still without conclusion. Here's an interesting link for all about BERU spark plugs. http://www.beru.com/download/produkte/TI06_en.pdf cheers |
