As per title, can anyone recommend a decent, reasonably priced and honest garage to take a look at my dads 190D?

Its a bit noisy any i want to know if it is mechanical or other ... Oil pressure is good but it clacks a bit...

I cant really help you with a garage but I can say what has helped similar generally noisy diesels in my care. A dose of wynns hydraulic lifter treatment and checking the belt tensioner rubber. Its a common issue as they age, particularly diesels. I can dig out a youtube vid to show you how to diagnose if you need. Or search youtube for 'kentronix tensioner' it should come up.

I dont have it to hand but I remember posting it on the forum a while back, should be around somewhere. Its a pretty easy swap on the diesels from what I remember.

Only other thing that I have experienced is sticking lifter.

Changing the lifters on diesel models is a bit of hassle, so I went for lifter treatment and it worked well.
