Hi All, just saying hello. I have an Almandine H reg 2.5 - 16 in the final stages of fettling after a lot of work, this being my second 190E - my first being a white 190E 2.0 bought as a bit of a runaround, which I traded in for the 2.5. I have owned numerous W124s and other Mercs, some names I recognise here from MBClub, who will know that I have a stable of cars all of which invariably go wrong. I have had to do a lot of work to the 2.5 (new rad, head and valve lap, engine mounts, steering box, brakes etc), which I hadn't expected, so for a period it was for sale (I suspect at too high a price but I didn't fancy losing out) and while it still is, I am keeping it at home and loving it and will probably keep it. While up for sale Mercedes Enthusiast have driven and photographed it, which I believe will be featuring it in February. I have a few small things to do, but intend to work my way through them slowly! |

Oh, and the car is featured in this month's Mercedes Enthusiast, and should also be in the featured cars for sale in Classic and Sportscar - not that I am going to sell it, just a hangover from long lead times! |

I didn't see him do the grille but I did notice a tube of Autosol metal polish - I shall ask him. Because the paint is only 6 months old he did say it was the first time he's done a car without a single scratch. I wanted the paint done to correct some orange peel, but what I hadn't realised was how much the colour would erupt through and glow. He was and I am sure there is more depth of shine and colour possible, but he had to move on to my XM. |

Autosol used with good old fashioned microfibre cloth. The star is new so half the battle was won before starting. |
