Hi, just joined site and looking for some help, my engine has just been rebuilt and installed back in my car, everything is buttoned up except for 1 vacuum pipe.

My Mechanic says it comes of the top of the inlet manifold towards the bulkhead/firewall but he cant find where it goes back onto, it was just hanging down, tried all the usual things, Haynes Manual, I even have a workshop manual from the states but just cant find anything.

The engine itself is a 1.8i, any help would be much appreciated as im dying to get back behind the wheel of my baby benz again and give up public transport.

Thanks Stwat, I looked but couldn't see the right location, I am hoping that it is nothing of importance and will take photo and run down to my local MB Dealer and see if one of them know, once I have my baby back.

Regards

Well thankfully after perseverance my mechanic has come through and found where the pesky floating vacuum line should go, it was of the autobox, and my baby is back in my garage tonight and she is running sweet after the rebuild so hopefully on and up and interior bits next and then those little scratches can then be done last but not least.

Who knows may even bring it to an event once I have done all the running in, ooh that's gone be a long job 22 miles a day mmmmm.
