I just bought 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190D for 2000€ with 170000km. I just got statioNed in Germany and needed second car. I ran across this car and seemed to be in really good condition. I know nothing of the car. Did make a good purchase?

I'd say you did. :D
For a 190 of that age, 17000 KM's is insignificant.
Post a photo when you can.

I'm a newbie, too, and, goddammit, a wannabe. Means, I'm the lowest, of the low, right ? :E Joined up, to get clued up, so no flock up's, when buying a 190E, in near future. Closest things owned, previously, a BMW 323i, Ford Sierra Ghia 2000E, but only because they both had wheels, at the corners. :driver: I'm gonna need help, OK ?

Anyone, direct me to the main threads ? Couldn't find them, so piggybacked on to this one

Hi and welcome.
is it the 2.5?i believe they are bullet proof(someone else will let u know more)!and with just over 100k miles on it seems very low miles for an 86.is it running smooth?no rust?-then i believe you got a nice buy that should give you many miles of happy motoring with a smile on your face :)

Hi Seamus whats the craic?:) just do a search for what your looking for.

Glenn.
