There may not be any at all. If you measure the crank and bores, the Dealer can put a set together for you. If I recall correctly during this time, Mercedes did not "match" a bearing to each journal like the Japanese companies; they held the crank journals to an exact measurement from one end to the other. This proved to be an expensive choice, because if a machinist ground a journal .0002 too far, the crank was scrap. Whereas a Honda for example, would have a slightly smaller bearing for the smaller journal, and save the crank. Do you have a good digital micrometer? |

i have been looking with my nose ive found green dots on the crankshaft (wich i think where blue in the past ?) so that means 58mm blue color bearing caps for the crankshaft if someone can confirm this for me ? and if i mount the new bearing shells i need to check with plastigage, what thickness should really be the oil film play ? Old bearings on the crankshaft had the numbers 102-5101 and 102-5002 (if i match this numbers with the new ones the same is that safe aswell?) and speaking of the conrods i couldnt find any dots on them except for on the caps (watch the picture) can i thrust this color ? cause there is so much parts in the engine block that has red paint. these had the bearings numbers : 102-4210 and 102-4211 let me know your thoughts. tnx Wesley ![]() ![]() CONROD CAP BLOCKS

this is what ive found on WIS but i dont actually get it yet, i do have 2 punch marks at every bearing seat on the crankcase as shown in this picture but i dont really get this schematic, how i read it is i have blue dots on my crank (i quess, its actually greenish) so it could be blue, color number 52, matching 2 punch marks everywhere wich is yellow? so i need yellow bearings wich are number 54 ? or am i doing this really wrong ? cause if i have yellow dots its still 54 with 2 punch marks wich is also yellow bearings ? your thoughts thank you
