Radiator for 2.5-16V; Radiator

Apparently my radiator has a small and slow leak. I only noticed when my coolant light went on and I mentioned this to the mechanic. Does anyone have a good recommendation on where to source one? I don't want to go with the cheapest option of fear that it will cause other residual issues with the car. I probably will get rad and A/C condenser at the same time to save on some labour.

Thoughts?

You're sure it's the radiator that leaks and not something else?

That is what the indy mechanic said. He knows his stuff or at least I don't have any reason to doubt him or the expertise to check myself :-)

He said he did a pressurized it and only a small amount leaked.

There are various models of radiator depending on aircon, gearbox. If you remove the slam panel above it(six 10 mm bolts) there might be a ref on the top of the radiator. If you do though make sure the bonnet release cable is correctly seated when refitting the slam panel.

The slam panel isn't removable on the 4 cylinder engined 190's.

Hi Everyone. So a quick update on my radiator woes. ECP was selling a replacement radiator for £300 and so began Google search. I found a great source in Germany named Kuhler-Rath (http://www.kuehler-rath.com). I bought a new radiator made in Portugal for £160+£25 for DHL shipping. Had it fitted today at my MB indy and so far no issues. I do still get above 80 for temperature if I am idling in heavy traffic but nothing like how fast it was getting hot with my failed/leaking radiator.

My AC condensor still has to be replaced but I have a little time for that. In the meanwhile I had the AC condensor removed so I can take picts and try and source one. Kuhler-Rath might have one of those as well - awaiting a response.

Thanks guys for your help and I am hoping with this new source I can save someone else time :-)

90/95 is normal running temp. As long as the fan clutch kicks in at around 100 then there is no issue. :)

I have a local rad specialist repair/reconditioner by me, Iv had a couple done in the past and they come out as good as new at a fraction of the cost of a new one and if you have to buy a new one they are normally a good price from them.
