Hi anyone know if its possible to fit a 2litre injection engine from a 1988 190 in to a 1993 i.8 manual |

Yes, it's basically the same engine (M102) But if you're going to the trouble, why not go for a 230 engine from a W124. 130+ BHP and bags more torque. |

Be careful as the versions of KE will be different between the two cars. You will need the full injection system and ecu for the 2.0 car. However the older KE probably wont accommodate a CAT/Lambda and yours being a 1993 mode will need these. You could run the Air Flow meter and ancillaries from your 1.8 but the engine will probably run pretty much as a 1.8. To get it running well you will probably need a ECU and Air Flow meter from a 1993 2.0 car. If you are doing it purely as a performance gain I would not bother. Gary |

Thanks for the replies the 1.8 is a carburettor engine needing work and I have a good injection engine in the 88 car the 93 car is in lovely condition otherwise |

Ah, well that's going to be more involved. You'l need to swap the wiring loom over and I'm sure there'll be other things too. I never knew they did the 1.8 in carb form. |

the guy selling the i,8 said it was a carb Illcheck it out my plan was to swap over the good engine with only 70k miles on will the flywheel fit Iquite fancy the manual set up thanks |

For power gain, go for 2.3 kompressor you'll still have agro but at least twice the power gain and torque. |
