Evening all, over the past couple of days i've been experiencing a jolt either forwards or backwards when selecting gears, seems to be getting worse and begining to cause concern. This is my first 190 and also my first auto so not entirely sure where to start! Car is an 88 2.0 auto, 81k and no history so not sure when box oil changed etc. Any ideas / advice much appreciated. |

I would suggest firstly a gear box oil and filter change then at least that is out of the way with certainty and it will most probably cure your problem.

Could well be the flexi discs on the propshaft. There is one at either end. As they are rubber, they will most likely both need to be done on an 88 car (assuming they are still the originals). If you have no history, and you intend to keep the car, I'd strongly recommend you get all the fluids changed asap. Gary |
