If you're losing lots of oil(leaking, not burning) it could be the head gasket.

Was starting ok up to two weeks ago tried all the usuals thought the rings might be gummed up , poured diesel into no 4 but didnt have enough to fill it lol so rings broken or piston trouble dont know multivalve diesel fitted today and hope to have it running tomorrow :) thanks for the offer on the engine silver star
