I was taking the viscous fan off my old 16v engine to fit to the new one and I made bits of it.... "wallbang"

they cost a small fortune new but I found a second hand one on this German site for 50 Euro,

Linky

seems cheap enough..... anyone ever used this site before?

That says it's for a 1.8 not a valver. Btw, only the 2.6's have the viscus fan, 4 pots are all electromagnetic.

16v fan is different to the 8v models AFAIK.

As Stu says, no viscous coupling, just an electro-clutch :)

Are you sure it's not the thermal switch that's faulty?

:$ erm.... not sure to be honest!

I had planned on getting the head taken off & done properly but funds are starting to run low.... maybe I'm mad but I might skip it

and only get the shims etc done, new bearings if needed but this won't be done until next month either way,

while the engine is out I have a steering box to be fitted,

engine bay to be cleaned up & sprayed,

I have a replacement bonnet that needs spraying and a new insulation pad,

front springs & shocks to be fitted, possibly new wishbones etc

cam cover, intake manifold, sump and all the engine pulleys are been powder coated next week,

if I had a pile of cash to throw at it then I'd have her back up & running for the summer but it could stretch till next year!! :D
