I'm editing this from the top since nobody has replied and to help future readers if they have similar bafflements!.....this might have been as simple as blocked fuel or auto choke not working? Might warrant a fresh thread on auto choke but I'll research first. My car has started now but Only with foot to floor while cranking and it took a few minutes. I used a booster to make sure the battery didn't flatten. Some puffs of smoke even came out of the little hole at the top of the air filter casing but it started firing on one, two, three then all cylinders and is back to normal. ORIGINAL QUESTION: car would not start after changing front pads. Are pad sensors anything to do with this? ANSWER: No nothing to do with detached pad sensors.(snapped sensors prior to my purchase of vehicle). It was just coincidental there was some kind of fuel blockage or auto choke issue after I changed front pads. I suspect the fuel filter hasn't been changed in a very long while so that's next on my 'to do' list. Edited by Gwilym, Wed Feb 25, 2015 2:55 pm.
