Hi Guys, My 2ltr Auto has suddenly developed whilst shifting from 3rd to 4th only something I can only describe as slipping, during the change which is all very smooth the engine revs rise right up just as if I was slipping the clutch on a manual. It started doing it yesterday and as sudden as it stated it appears to have stopped. Wondered what might be the cause, the fluid level is perfect, its 107k miles no idea if she has ever had a GBox service or not could it be filters? Cheers Chris |

It might be a vacuum issue possibly. It could be what's known as "flaring" https://mercedessource.com/problems/transmission/diagnosing-adjusting-and-fine-tuning-mercedes-automatic-transmissions |

Take the auto box dipstick out, have a look at the color of the oil. Color may give us a clue. |

Its been several days now, and no re-occurrence of any "flaring" so fingers crossed, much appreciate your advice thanks. Did a quick search and couldn't find a "how to" on the oil and filter change is there one? or anything I should be aware of the old girl probably deserves one so might aswell do it. Chris |

It will be easier to get a garage to do it...you really need it up on a car lift or over a pit as its a messy job on your back..should be ok if they use the correct gasket and fluid |
