Things are coming along nicely with my LE. Getting the jobs done.

Next on my list is go change the ATF and filter. I've changed the oil on manual boxes but this is my first auto. It's a job I'm able to do.

I've bought a new sump gasket and filter. I'm also going to drain the torque converter and replace all the ATF. I'm planning on using Dexron III? Is this ok?

I've read bits on the net. Where is the gearbox dipstick? Do I refill the oil with a funnel in the dipstick tube? I know that I need to read the oil once it's up to temp.

And with the engine running. Dextron 3 is fine The dipstick is at the rear left of the engine, the one with the red lockable cap on. The amount of oil needed is listed in the owners handbook.

When I get round to doing this on mine I shall be removing the dipstick tube and changing the O ring at the bottom of it. Apparently much like the heater matrix O rings they become brittle after about 20 years..
