I'm only really here for the Kitchens

Ok,

This will be a bit disjointed as I didn't actually take a camera this year. Just my naff phone and stuff I will get back from others who took pics. I will add in capitals and punctuation later, avoiding the shift key helps avoid my RSI which I have started to get through dealing with all the crap I have to when I get back. aaaanyway.

We (me, jeremy, paulossie, and my mate marc (s2 owner)) left on friday morning. Our bikes came too. My worst fears were realised when marc, who shall remain nameless, bought some custard on the ferry. It felt like a baaaaad omen, but it turned out to be a good omen. Although not for marc, who shall remain nameless, who had to eat a terrible ferry pudding.

We bombed it over to namur in belgium and proceeded to take the retro spirit of "last one up"ness out on the belgians.

Next day I got under the car and fixed a driveshaft issue, 2 nuts fallen off the flexdiscs and several loose. Paul is enjoying the glorious sun while I fiddle away in the gutter.
Posted Image

Uk Merc Man and nsx_j rocked up as we were finishing and it was time to get the show on the road. CONVOY !!!

Once at hock and settled in we proceeded to find germans to destroy through drink. I am very pleased to say we did a very good job... apologies to any germans who got tangled up in it, we had a great night, and sorry some of you didnt quite manage to get to your tents before conking out.

Paul, I dont have the pic can you post it or email me.

Next day was track day, I was far less nervous this year so could eat before hand. We had some wurst
Posted Image

Some people looked at my engine/rat droppings, and wondered how come I was keeping up with the 16v this year.
Posted Image

I picked up some marbles, just like what them F1 chaps do.
Posted Image

We saw one of these :-
Posted Image

Went around the front and it looked like this.
Posted Image

We spent some time doing this
Posted Image

But more time doing this

I think people should have to take an exam before being allowed a camera phone. Questions about aspect ration, screen format, stuff like that. If you fail you are not allowed a phone and have to do everything by post instead.

What a great day, as always great to see everybody from the german forum, henger, lude, maki, and everybody else we met. There was not a wrongun amongst them. Thanks for the warm welcome and the invite.

more pics and vids will get put up soon.

Then we popped off to visit speyer again.

The unplanned random surprise when we lifted the lid of our breakfast

Then we buggered off to a place we know called bad wildbad, in the black forest. The naked sauna had a bonus this year. The blokes werent all 80 and whats more they werent all blokes !! Some were females !

Black beer in the black forest.

The bike rack look is growing on me.

We got to use the bikes a bit more
Posted Image

Ghetto gaffa tape bike lights because I lost my bike light.
Posted Image

Paul was pulling wheelies, anybody who has been to retro knows the result of paul demonstrating his bike skills.

Spoiler: click to toggle

I drank lots of this kind of stuff
Posted Image

And got through lots of this.
Posted Image

And a fair bit of this (energy drink)
Posted Image

On the way back we went to see this :-
Posted Image

Climbed up and looked down at this, there was an amazing view outwards too.:-
Posted Image

So we jumped in the top like this:-
Posted Image

And this is what happened.

On the way back, while the ferry was preparing for us, we just had time to nick a portion of somebodies wifi and watch the basketball goal... or netball, no, no it was football I think. Marc, who shall remain nameless, was a happy bunny. I took him to the vets on our return and he is ok now.

Looks like you guys had yet another epic road trip and no unexpected road side repairs.

You did however, forget to put up the pics of the nude females from the sauna!

Looking at your pictures which I must say are excellent for a shit phone, you've all had another road trip to remember or not going by the beer drunk. Jeremy looks a bit dodgy on that bike, should have left the stablizers on.

Here we have Jeremy AKA "da management" , just before his terrible run in with a blurry faced one footed ferry monster.
Posted Image

And what I assume by the weather is belgium, or wales.
Posted Image

Lots more to come.

Another incident that has almost faded from memory, after nearly forcing Uk Merc Man to rear end me in germany I was informed my brake lights hadn't been working since leaving london. Assuming it was a fault common to both lights I went the normal diagnostic route, fuse, pedal switch, earth etc....

Anyway, it turns out the coincidence I was assuming hadn't happened actually had, both lights broke within a few hours of each other. This was finally traced on the morning of the track day.

I assume it was the vibrating driveshaft causing extreme wear on the filaments of the bulbs, or just an amazing coincidence, or the blurry faced one footed ferry monster.
