Trying to get reverse gear in my 1991 2.0E 5 speed manual is getting so difficult that I've removed the gear stick gaiter to make sure the "roller ball" is actually in reverse rather than 2nd. And it got worse after a certain fast fit garage where I took it for it's MoT - passed - no advisories - seemed to think that reverse was left, up and forward - and so had to push it off the ramp as they couldn't find reverse - despite them being left 2 pictures of where reverse was!! Can anybody suggest if this is just a case of it needing new bushes or does it sound if the linkage arms are now bent? The gearbox in 1 to 5 - and reverse - when you can eventually get there - works fine! Thanks |

Their are small rubber bushes on the linkage they may have come out very cheap from main dealer the linkage is adjustable if you have a Haynes manual it tells you how to do good luck |
