Hi guys, I seem to have noticed a problem with the E/S switch on the auto gearbox of my 2.0. I have pretty much been driving it in E since I bought the vehicle, with the occasional flick to S every now and then to see what the old girl can do! This way I was getting around 300 miles from a tank which I didn't think was too bad. Recently when I have been driving I have noticed the car seems to respond a bit quicker and the kickdown works just by slightly pressing the throttle. It also takes the revs up to the limiter before changing gear. This leads me to believe the S mode is stuck on somehow, and I seem to be getting around 230 miles to a tank, so it's having a big effect. I wondered if anyone has had an issue like this before and if there was a common solution / suspect part to replace. Thanks, Simon |

Hi Simon I've had that one before on my car. My fix was flicking from E to S until my finger got tired. That sorted it.

E's boring. I leave it in S.
