Heater fault

Hi Guys,

I have just resurrected my 190e after a good few years in storage. It is running again with essentially no effort so I am very pleased but I had forgotten about a fault it had developed just before I parked it up. This is with the heater whereby every time I try to start the blower, it blows the heater fuse.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Hoping to get it back on the road this week but with winter fast approaching, I'd like to get the heater working asap.

thanks

I'd suggest that the bearings/bushings in your blower motor are corroded and dry and causing the motor to draw too much current. You can lube the motor as a short term fix but youll need to replace it in the longer term.

My W201 has a heater fault whereby when the valves are off the matrix goes cold, as it should (!); however, as soon as you turn it on, it goes on full, ie no progression. And it makes no difference which side you open, both turn it on fully. Any idea why and what I can do to make it progressive?

Cheers.
