Randomly after stopping at a traffic light this started happening. It's worst in Drive, but still happens in all other gear positions. It'll sink down, judder, then realise what's happening and spring back to life. This happens repeatedly from cold when stationary, and being warm doesn't help. I have removed and checked the ICV by applying voltage, it makes what I believe to be the appropriate noise. I lightly cleaned it, however, it was remarkably clean along with the hoses. I also opened up the OVP and FPR to check for dry joints. the OVP had a few which I fixed, but still no prevail. It's getting to the point that I'm not sure what to do. Any help solving would be very very gratefully received. |

I'm not sure about slightly, but if I push enough to pull the revs up slightly it holds steady |

Cheap & easy possibility: There's a spring beside the arm controlled by the throttle cable; that spring assists in proactively returning the arm to rest. Check if that spring is in place. The spring hooks through two holes, 1 in the arm, 1 on a static block. When at rest, that microswitch is pressed. On mine, one of the ends forming a hook had broken off that spring and the proactive return wasn't happening. I just used a pliers to bend the broken end and create a new little hook. Best Regards, ConorD |

Update.....turns out ABS bulb had been removed. When replaced it illuminated continuously so fitted new OVP relay and that sorted the ABS light. Car is still intermittently cutting out though....I know when it's about to do it as when decelerating the revs suddenly rise, fall, and rise again and will then cut out when I come to a stop. Not too sure where to look next as the fault is intermittent in nature.......... |

I ended up selling this one, but had a w124 300ce that did similar. An overhaul of ignition components cured it, dizzy, plugs, leads |
