Hey guys, just creating this thread to help anyone who needs to find a replacement for the no longer available part A0001541386 the alternator heat shielding airflow pipe.

(Sorry if this has been done before lol)

The pipe cost me £12 delivered from a company called Car Builder Solutions, the link to the correct pipe for the 16v (and poss others) can be found here:

http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/classic-ducting-heater-aluminium-paper-covered-40mm-id

Here's the final fitment of the pipe (please excuse my grubby engine bay, its on the list lmao ), it took only a few minutes to fit with the help of fellow members :D

did mine 2 month ago with same type of pipe from local motor factors, mine covers the back of the voltage reg and goes to the aluminium shield hole which i think is how it was when new..?

Yea thats about it, theres a smaller diameter hole on the back of the alternator plate and a slot in plastic locator in the ally heat sheild, the pipe slides over both :) ncie and easy

That looks good but I would be a little worried about the 120 deg C rating. Have you held a match to the outer covering to see how flammable it is. Cossie manifold puts some serious heat out at WOT.

I haven't no, but as the air scoop is behind the right head light, I think it will keep it sufficiently cool whilst driving, i hope :)

Most deff mate, the back plate protects the wires and rectifier etc, a definite necessary item :) the pipe sends the cold air to the back of the alternator through the scoop behind the headlight on the 16v :)

The part number is A1021540204 but sadly they are no longer avaliable, :(

in need of one if anybody has a spare. I presume its the same as a normal 190e, i have cut my pipe so it covers most of the back of the alternator but still need the correct plate cover...
