Hi, So I have been looking at replacing my knackered 2.0 engine with something else. Another 2.0 lump seems the obvious choice but I was wondering if a later Kompressor engine (either 2.0 or 2.3) would fit in and be compatible. There are 200K and 230K engines from SLKs and W203s on ebay for similar prices to original spec W201. Would the ECUs and wiring go straight in or would too much fettling be required to make the venture viable? |

Depends if your keeping the car long term, wether it's worth doing all that, but if you scroll through show off your build, someone has previously done a conversion. |

The car owes me nothing, so I dont have any qualms about investing a little bit of money into it to use as a daily driver. The immediate gains of a Kompressor over the stock 2.0 would be sufficient for my needs. So providing the engine is in good condition, I wont be putting any further strain on it than when it was initially installed. If I could do the Kompressor swap, I would keep the car for as long as I could. |
