Am draining down the cooling systems and despite repeated flushes I'm still getting rusty coloured water running out. Do I gather that the engine is internally corroding?- any recommendations?

Car runs fine and does not overheat.

Thanks

I would use a citrus flush .You will find a good engine flush at the local halfords depot .If the engine is filled with the normal 50/50 antifreeze it should not corrode . After a long time ,and if its not changed every 3 years the brown rust will show as you flush it out .Pull the radiator and back flush it will help ..

citric acid from wilko. 4 - 6 oz powder dissolved and added to the system. Run for 1 hr and drain

I did the citric acid trick to mine. It does the trick perfectly and also what Mercedes recommends. Also remove the rad and flush it through both ways after you've used the acid. Loads of shite came out of mine.
