Bellino Fuel can colour

I have acquired a 7L Bellino fuel can to go in the spare wheel bit. It would benefit from a lick of paint. I'm having the spout/nozzel blasted back to clean metal, so may get the can done too.

Question is..... Do I paint it as close to original colour as possible, after finding the colour or do I do it Midnight Blue to match the car?

So far everyone I've asked has said grey. Anyone know a close shade or colour?

Hello

By the looks of it, I think the Colour is Galinitgrau 7129, otherwise known as Galinite Grey, the satin grey colour used inside the boot on many Mercedes models. Also wiper arms etc.

I had my local paint supplier mix me up some. You could get some mixed up in aerosol if you fancied 'tickling' it yourself.

Your local auto paint place will have colour swatches you can compare with the can to double check. If this isn't the colour, then there's bound to be a RAL colour that would match.

Hope this helps.

The flexi spout is not bare metal but has a coating. Blasting it will just leave it rusty

Thank you for the input. A huge help. I have ordered an aerosol of the above mentioned colour. Not sounding too big headed but i can get an almost professional finish from an aerosol so should be good enough for the little it will be seen.

Will get in touch with a few companies next week to see what can be done with the spout.

Here she is in her current state

That looks ok Lee. I would leave it as it is, age marks etc. Doesn't look to shabby to be honest

I did consider keeping as is, but it's just that slight bit too far gone for my liking. Its a but rough close up.

Will do Ben

Most people buy the can before the magic screw. I do things the wrong way as you know. Had to buy the can just so I can use your magic screw

I ended up with 3....first one off ebay which I refinished. Then 2 come up in Germany from the same seller with "offer option" so made a offer and had them posted over.

Just making up the fixing kit now to go in the plastic spare wheel thingy now.

Must remember to stay off ebay when I' my bored! Ended up buying another Becker Grand Prix 7990 too as a spare. :'(

Thanks Lee, im sure yours will look the nuts when finished :) I really wanted an earlier one with the part number B67580038 stamped into the metal just under the 7L bit. but for a mint one they wanted way to much so went for this one, didn't think £100 shipped was to bad.

Thats great Ben, they are a pricey extra these days, super bargain that. I prefer the "Ben-Mercedes" Engineered screw fastner. Will be good to see what an original one looks like tho.

To peeps who need a can, i would be PM'ing Ben to get first dibs on his mint one.

Soon as the new one arrives, i'll make the one in the pic available including the Ben-Mercedes screw :) wanna scrutinize the new one before I do lmao

Cheers for the sales help Martin :)

Heres a pic of the new one (hopefully)
