Posted on here a while back about a respray I had on my 190E that was poor quality and I had considered just parting the car out. The shop agreed to take the car back and re do it. Finally got it back this week. This time I'm pretty happy with the finish the pannels fit properly and the paint finish is uniform and smooth no rough patches like previously. Its not 100% perfect but a 30ish year old car is never going to showroom short of spending 10k. This time it has the finish I expected 1st time. Also fitted Caret duchatelet bodykit and alloys which I intend to get diamond cut at some point. The body kit needs some fog lights that fit better than the stop gap ones on there now. Have a slight issue with the front body kit. There is a small gap between the grill and bumper I've seen this on many 190s does anyone knowhow to sort this? Anyway I'll let you guys judge yourselves ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by the royal we, Sat Aug 5, 2017 8:15 pm.

Looks good in these pictures but they wouldn't show a poor finish. Sounds like you are pleased with it now so it must be as good away from the camera. Remember you can go into a new car showroom and find paint faults if you want to. New cars are sprayed by robots and resprays are done by humans !!! What gap ?

A small gap betweeb the grill and bumper here ![]() The main problem before was the finish wasn't uniform some bits were glossy and some bits were rough and they missed the door shuts. This time they have done all door shuts, replaced front and rear screen seals, side window seals and the paint finish has no patches. It looks good even up close. Not sure why they couldn't do this 1st time but its right now. This is the gap I mentioned. The guy who fitted the kit said some clips were missing or broken. I've seen this gap on a few 190s does anyone know how to fix it so it sits flush? |

Looks like the headlights need adjusting down slightly on the two mounting points on the slam panel.there is a 8mm bolt that will need to be undone and the large plastic nut will need screwing in to make it less proud which in turn will close the gap on the bumper. |

And sometimes the bumper is fitted low so undo the four bolts and two screws push it up and redo the bolts and screws |

It looks very nice, but it rather begs the question: "Why didn't they do it that well in the first place?" Good for you, though... |
