Wanting to fit roof bars to carry a sailing dinghy. The boat if fiber glass and not that heavy but has a small trolly and the mast in 2 pieces will go on top. I will look for the highest weight rated bars I van get but does the car itself have a max limit for a roof load? would this be in the manual? Anyone got experience of loading the roof on a 190? |

It should be in the owners manual. Hopefully someone will be able to have a look for you. |

Hi, I regularly fit a pair of "whisper bars" to my 190 to carry a roof box full of chairs, wind breaks, body boards and all sorts with out any problems at all. Rather than fit standard roof bars i opted for the aerodynamic version and have found no reduction in fuel economy. |

Might not have been such a daft question afterall as I can't find any thing in the manual about roof bars. How do bars even fit? I can't see any way that they attach presumably they attach to the chrome strips thay run along the roof? Can't see any holes or abvious attachments points thought |

Under the roof trims on the exposed metalwork of the door shuts there are some arrows stamped in to the metal. This is where the bars should be fitted. |
