drivers side window goes down normally but when closing starts at normal speed then slows for the last few inches as if there is a restriction or something is tight, passenger side window is fine. Any ideas on an easy fix as i am reluctant to take the door trim off. |

You could remove door card and take some pressure off the regulator holding bolts .Thats the bolts that hold the lifting arms in the door itself .If i am right there should be three or four bolts to work on Then lift it on the button and let it center itself .Do it a few time to see if it helps ,Nip up the bolts a little at a time . While your in there grease up the main drive gear,Thats the large one that the motor turns to lift window up or down ,do the same to all the joints. If unable to get it to work right, then you might need a new window drive motor.

Hi and thanks I googled it and the overwhelming view was get some silicon worked into the channels. I did this very carefully applying it with a tiny paint brush and a cloth and its worked a treat. After a few ups and downs on the window switch it operates smoothly. Im sure i will need to do this on a regular basis but its made a big difference. Ive done the passenger side too for good measure. -shocking really should have been under warranty, the car is only 24 years old

I found that the layer of soundproofing applied to the inside of the doors began to foul my electric windows, leaving sticky residues on the glass in summer. I stripped it all off and haven't had any problems since. Some may find that a bit drastic or prefer to replace the deformed insulation with something a bit more 2017. |
