I think one of the metal hinge thingys that presses the wind deflector at the front of the sunroof opening has detached itself from the side rail and moved down back into the sunroof cassette. I say "think" because it's no longer there and the sunroof is now reluctant to close, it'll close maybe 1 in 3 attempts. At the moment it's closed so I'd like to keep it that way until I can get my mechanic to check out what the problem is. I figured I'd just remove the sunroof fuse but I believe it's number 19, the same one that protects the radio and cigarette lighter. The cigarette lighter I can live without but not the radio. Any other suggestions as to how to disable the sunroof so that I, or a passenger, can't open it using the switch in the dash? Mine is a 1984 2.0 petrol automatic. |

I'd carefully remove the switch from the dash and unplug it. |

Now why didn't I think of that! Do they just pull out with a bit of wiggling or are there clips behind that could potentially snap? Edited by quenching, Sun Sep 24, 2017 8:34 pm.

Put. Blade or a small fine screwdriver under the metal edge and lift up. |

Thanks. It a bit like being told "don't touch that big red button" and then being left alone with it
