My mum has finally got herself a B Class.

Found this local and for a good price.

It has a couple of small marks and dinks on it, so the dealer is putting it through their bodyshop.
I get to drive this to work every day.

B170
1.7, Manual, Petrol, 91k, FSH, usual extras

EDIT...

What a joke this car is. It's a deathtrap.
Steering rack is severely damaged due to an accident.
Rear seatbelt stalk is broken. 2 parts fallen off, seat belt won't clip in.
God knows what would have happened if it was involved in an accident now, with people in the back seats.
Lesser issue is the wioer blades didn't clear any watwr from the screen.

This car came with a fresh MOT and passed the dealers 100 point safety check.

We were told £3k worth of work to fix it, after weeks of arguing, the large multi-make dealer in Epsom, Surrey, have refunded the money for the car. But we are having to fight for the expenses paid out on it.
I have never seen or heard such poor customer service. Constant lies and repeated rudeness to my mum.
Can see why this was classed as a Bargain Car

If anybody is interested in buying it, it is for sale again on the dealers website..... for £600 more.
The large dent on the passenger side front wing had been repaired, that's probably where the £600 comes from

I work with her, I can't stand her driving, makes sense I drive.

She temporarily had a 51 plate A Class, so this is a step up for her.

Looks good! If you need a centre cap for the front wheel I think have a spare. New ones at MB are about £9.50, but there's cheaper on ebay.

Cheers Frontwing. It's going through the bodyshop to get the little marks out, hopefully they will put a cap on. More than likely not though

It's finally here.

I drove it back from the dealer. It's a surprisingly nice drive.
Needs a few marks polished out and a few small jobs done, but it was £1000 under-priced so my mum is happy with that.

Will get more pics up if it stops raining

No big plans for it, unless I get my hands on it.

One of the air vents are broken, new one ordered.
Her ladyship is still choosing which center caps she wants. Got a set of standards, grey with chrome star and a set of bkue wreath ones.
Needs updated headlamp bulbs. Go to work in darkness down narrow un-lit country roads. Current bulbs look like candle light.
Detail it.
Last two MOTs have advised rear discs. Getting a pair next week.

Small update

The B170 is in a Mercedes specialist being looked at.

We took it back to the dealers as they hadn't done anything about the whirring noise and the engine management light keeps coming on.

The dealership has looked at it and judged it too expensive to repair. They have taken it to the specialist for a second opinion.

Apparently it needs a new ECU & power steering pump & rack. All in, over £3k

They are offering a full refund for the car. So it may be going.
My mum will certainly be looking for another B Class. Despite the issues with this one, we are very impressed with it.

Can't go too much into detail, but it was issued an MOT at the dealership when it should have failed on a few saftey problems.

Refund given as the car is a pile of shit.

Would cost more to repair it than it cost to buy it.

See my previous post.
Itís a Chrysler era effort. Most of the stuff Mercedes turned out then was crap.
I just didnít want to be that rude when you first got it.........

Today we picked up the replacement.

Another B170 but a lot better spec.
Sport Pack
1/2 leather
Parktronic
17" Alloys

Totally different to the last one. Real nice to drive. 80 mile round journey to collect it. Hope this one lasts longer.

Another Chrysler era car?

It is another Chrysler era car but build quality feels so much better than the silver one.
My brother has a 2007 Golf, the B
W245 feels very similar to drive, apart from sitting higher.
The dash has a strong hint of A class and C class about it.

On the Chunk scale of cars. 8/10

7 months on, I've driven it approx 3k miles, it's actually a nice car to drive. Suspension is a bit on the harsh side being the sports pack, but that makes it handle a lot better.

On average I get approx 36 mpg. My mum seems to get a little more, no idea why :driver:

Glad your mum's got a good car at last...
I got a feeling that dealership in Epsom is where I worked for 4 years, I've bought bargain cars there since but you do have to be careful.....

To be honest, the quality was dropping way before Chrysler rocked up. The W210 was launched 3 years before for a start. They started getting a fair bit better in the mid 2000's.

Did well to get shot of the first one, nothing worse than a car that's been pranged and bodged back together. I had a W202 like that which I had to scrap ^o) Super careful now.

Chunk, been a few years since I worked there, the staff turnover is quite high so theres not many people left there that I know. As I said I've been back and bought cars there, wouldn't particularly recommend them for services or MOTs though. Drove past recently and it looks like the bargain cars bit is gone ?
