Hey guys, recently i purchased a 1985 2.3 190e. i have been researching and doing small maintenance jobs as i learn more and more through these threads, however, i cant help but to feel like the engine bay is missing parts/pieces. here is a video of the first time i turned the car on. since then i have done an oil change and changed the spark plugs. If anyone knows more or less if my engine bay is complete, or if its missing any parts please let me know. https://youtu.be/nm5ivq-wTLM |

Hi. You are missing the cold air feed pipe that goes from beside the radiator to the air box. |

Need to find why you have a misfire .Distributor cap and the rotor arm needs replacing along with the ht leads and above post air in take, and it might have a sensor that fits in to the side of it . After this the fuel pump relay . If it stops by itself then do the last one in the list I would start with normal wear and tear items first ,.But do replace the air intake trunking first of all |

Since the video I replaced the spark plugs and it seems that the issue with the fuel pump has gotten worse. The car won’t start, it’ll turnover them make a humming noise toward where the fuel pump is located. I have a video I will upload later tonight that hopefully will clarify what I’m trying to describe. Also, what do you mean by air intake trunking? I appreciate any knowledge you guys throw my way, before the last couple of months I knew nothing about restoring or working on cars. Edited by jmendes, Sat Jan 27, 2018 3:18 am.
