Hey Folks, I had to use the 190e LE this week to get me around, it's a project that i'm slooooowly working on.
I found it like it was looking for another gear, i.e at 60mph she was at 3,000 revs.

What revs does yours sit at when running at 60mph, I did count up the gears, I know in D she pulls away in 2nd and changes up to 4th but am I imagining it or should it run at less revs that 3000.
Cheers
Peter

Mine is 3,000 rpm at just over 100kph, from memory maybe 64 mph.
I've a 4-speed auto 2.0
The 1.8 probably has a slightly different final drive ratio.

FairPlay Conor for the answer,
Sounds like I'm on the right track, I thought it was running a bit high but maybe as a 1.8 as you confirm it is about right.

Completely normal.
I have a 2litre and out on the motorway today it was sitting at about 3000rpm at 60 to 70mph.
My advice? Cruise at 55 to 65, sit back, and enjoy the smooth ride!

I really like the gearbox setup, it may not be ideal for faster motorway speeds but, the offset is great torque and pick up whilst on twisty b-roads doing 40 to 55mph. Out in northumberland coutryside today and no car ive driven feels nicer flowing through the bends whilst also dealing with the potholes!

On all of my 190es I feel like they could do with another gear, the 2.5-16 and 2.6 especially, perhaps I'm just used to a modern cars 6+ gears

Daveycooper I think you hit the nail on the head, motorway driving.
Best at B road driving maybe.
