Right, Iíve got to do something I donít like doing. Iím afraid Iíve got to eat my wordsÖ I said recently that I donít think Iíll ever part with this car. Well, things change, and Iíve got to make space for the 190E 2.5-16 Iíve just bought. (Yes Ė Iíve finally got my favourite Mercedes Ė more on that to follow.)

Anyway, most of you will know my 190E but for the benefit of those that donít, here we go:

In my humble opinion this is almost without doubt the best 2.0 190E For Sale in the UK at the moment. Itís finished in Bornite Metallic and has the full (952) Sportline package. Comprising of front and rear Black Leather Bucket Seats, 390mm Sports steering wheel, Sportline gear shifter and Sports Chassis. It has four electric windows and sunroof.

With regards to condition, itís almost perfect. The bodywork is almost perfect, there is no rust on any of the arches, the doors or anywhere I can find! The jacking points are all good, as is everything underneath. It has been garaged by both myself and the previous owner (Since 2003), and he said the lady he bought it from kept it indoors. The paint is has an even finish and is highly polished, there are one or two small chips on the bonnet and so on but is as good as could be reasonably expected for a 25 year old car. While I have owned it, I have cleaned the entire underside and treated it with Bilt Hamber Dynax UB.

The interior has worn really well, the back seat has hardly been used and the fronts are in similar condition Ė with minimal wear to the driverís bolster. Mechanically the car is A1 Ė as far as Iím concerned it couldnít be improved. This is the best driving W201 I have owned, the engine is great, transmission shifts perfectly, there is no play in the steering, knocking or clunking from the suspension and overall the car handles brilliantly. The previous owner had the engine Terracleaned and dyno tested Ė it hasnít lost any power over the years. It also has a Cobra Stainless cat back exhaust. It isnít loud or obnoxious in any way and doesnít drone on the motorway but makes a slightly more purposeful sound than standard and also fits flusher to the underside of the car.

The service history of the car is as follows:

PDI: 24/2/93 Ė Speeds of Blackpool
6000 miles Ė Speeds of Blackpool
13,384: 14/10/94 Ė Speeds of Blackpool
18,470: 18/4/95 - Speeds of Blackpool
25,638: 01/07/96 - Oakwell Autoís Leyland
28,497: 01/10/96 Ė Road Range Liverpool
36,926: 26/11/97 Ė S&R Motors Holmes Chapel
43,545: 19/08/98 - S&R Motors Holmes Chapel
49,195: 06/05/99 - S&R Motors Holmes Chapel
55,008: 22/03/00 - S&R Motors Holmes Chapel
62,283: 26/07/01 - S&R Motors Holmes Chapel
72,171: 22/07/03 - S&R Motors Holmes Chapel
77,396: 21/08/04 Ė R&B Motors Rotherham
82,284: 21/09/05 - R&B Motors Rotherham
90,637: 24/10/06 - R&B Motors Rotherham
96,330: 22/08/07 - R&B Motors Rotherham
101,976: 08/07/08 - R&B Motors Rotherham
108,347: 16/06/09 Ė MK Mercedes Benz Rotherham
114,492: 08/06/10 - R&B Motors Rotherham
119,998: 08/03/11 - R&B Motors Rotherham
126,404: 18/07/12 - R&B Motors Rotherham
131,865: 16/12/15 - R&B Motors Rotherham
136,413: 16/09/17 Ė TOWIW123 Mercedes Specialist

At the last service, the car also had new front discs and pads, I have also replaced the expansion tank, thermostat, cap, coolant and fan switch. The wheels have also been powder coated and have 4 Continental tyres with at least 6mm tread.

As you can see, the car has been maintained regardless of cost and has an A4 file of invoices for basically everything that has ever been spent on the car, it has 3 keys, 2 remote fobs, every MOT from new, tax discs going back to 2004, and an original sales brochure as well as all the owners manuals and general paraphernalia. I honestly believe this is one of the best W201s in the country, it has been 100% reliable for me and I would drive it anywhere. I will be gutted to see it go, as I say It is only for sale due to the inbound Cosworth. I have plenty of photos available of the car should you need any more and call me for any more information Ė 07921252639. I will be advertising it elsewhere, but wanted to post to the forum and club first.

If you have been, thank you for reading.

I can also vouch for this car - and it's the best 2.0 that I can recall ever seeing. Such a rare spec.

All the best with sale Jack.

Slight backtrack, I've decided I don't really want to sell this car - contact me instead for non vital organs. (Also if you're interested in the W124)
