I wonder if someone can give me some pointers as to what this sound could be. Yesterday, after giving my 190E a run I parked up went into the house and came back out 5 minutes later to use the car again. I turned the ignition on and the fuel pump primed but rather than the usual buzz for about 2 seconds, there was a groaning sound instead coming from the rear of the car near the boot/rear seat area. The groaning noise lasted about 10 seconds and then stopped. I then fired the car up and the noise came back for 2 seconds and stopped. The car drove perfectly after this. I wonder if this is related to a starting issue that I had last weekend? The car had been sitting for a day and I went to give it a run. The fuel pump primed (no unusual noise) but the car wouldn't start, in that it was cranking properly but wouldn't fire/catch. I tried again but it wouldn't start. I then did the old trick of priming the pump a few times before attempting to start it and it did start. Edited by nullogik, Sun Apr 22, 2018 9:49 am.
