Fuel distributer; Fuel distributer advice needed

Finally took the plunge, and took the fuel distributor apart, I've read the instructions, but I'm a wee bit confused.
The kerf mark on the plunger thingy doesn't line up with the port, it's aiming off to the side as you can see in the pictures. Also the end of the plunger with the three nipple things doesn't line up with the indents in the bottom of the other half of the fuel distributor.
It doesn't seem right to me, what do you folks think?

Cheers
Ian

Best thing you can do is look at how the rebuild is done . Use youtube videos for the way to rebuild the fd .

Thanks mate, been referring to the Bosch manual, it's got me this far. Instructions say mark where the kerf mark is, but mine doesn't look like it's aiming right at the port

I've had the repair kit ages, hot start problems, so thought I'd better give it a go

Same problem here on my other car.
Did the repair kit come from the dealers or online.
I did download a Bosch manual on this system some time ago need to find it and tackle this job soon.

I bought the repair kit online. Pretty sure from the U.S
Only criticism, the wee o rings for the plunger sits are very very tight compared to the old ones.

Anyone have any idea about the kerf mark? I don't want to put it back together, without knowing 100%. I should add that I haven't rotated the plunger at all.

I haven't yet mate, I'm tempted just to leave it as is, but then I've not replaced the o rings on the plunger. I'll have a wee look tonight. Cheers
