Hi All, Got a problem with my 1.8 auto, just completed a recent engine rebuild in respect of new big end shells, piston rings, head gasket, valve seals and springs, new timing chain and guides, new fuel regulator (located in front of metering unit), fuel distributor refurb (new diaphragms & seals etc), new eha valve, new leads, plugs cap and rotor arm. After the rebuild the car actually started to then just cut out, turned out to be a completely knackered battery, that replaced it started again, first crank. I shut the car off to clear a few things out of the way and thats it it wasn't started since? It has spark on all four plugs Fuel pump is priming on ignition and fuel is present at injectors Timing has been checked, checked and checked again TDC and all marking lining up perfectly Compression checked but concerned with the figures being lower than before the engine breakdown 1-4 cyl 115psi, before breakdown it was 1-3 142psi & 4 118psi Cranks and cranks just doesn't fire up Guys I'm stumped, following parts are about 12 months old and all were brand new Injectors Fuel pump relay OVP relay Fuel pump and filter Alternator Ignition coil All this to go with the new parts above too. HELP!! regards Finchy |

You may have simply flooded the engine. From my experience, KE-JET doesn't like being cold Started and switched off a few times in a row. Edited by stwat, Mon Jul 9, 2018 5:26 pm.
